Have your say on crime and community safety in Milton Keynes
Milton Keynes Council and the Safer MK partnership is asking local people to share their thoughts on what the crime and community safety priorities should be in MK.
The annual survey, which is available to complete online until 31st January 2021, will help Safer MK and its partners understand what’s important to local people about tackling crime.
Almost 3,000 people from across Milton Keynes completed last year’s survey and we would like to push that number much higher this year. All feedback is used to inform Safer MK’s future work to make Milton Keynes a safer place to live, work and visit for everyone. The feedback from last year’s survey has led to a co-ordinated approach to tackle violent crime, raise awareness on scamming and work towards a campaign to improve people’s knowledge of domestic violence and abuse and how to get help when it is most needed.
The Safer MK community safety partnership is made up representatives from Milton Keynes Council, Thames Valley Police, Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service and Her Majesty’s Probation.
Cllr Lauren Townsend, MK Council’s Cabinet Member for Community Safety, said: “MKC is working with its partners across Milton Keynes to make our city a safer place to live for everyone.
“I’d encourage everyone to take part in this year’s survey to share your thoughts. Your feedback will help shape our future work, so it’s really important that you get involved so we can take action on issues most affecting you.”
The survey, which is anonymous and should only take ten minutes to complete, will run for two months from 1st December 2020 until 31st January 2021, and is available online using this link:
